Eric Waweru is a governance and public policy expert with over thirteen years of experience advising governments and development partners across Africa. His work focuses on political economy analysis, stakeholder strategy, and the delivery of complex reforms in high-stakes environments.
He has supported senior government leaders on policy design, implementation, and institutional strengthening, with a particular focus on translating strategic priorities into coordinated, actionable programmes. His experience spans governance reform, digital transformation, climate, and inclusive economic growth.
Eric’s strength lies in structuring political and institutional dynamics into clear engagement strategies, aligning stakeholders around reform priorities, and addressing delivery bottlenecks that often undermine implementation. He brings a strong understanding of how policy, politics, and institutions interact, and how to navigate these dynamics to enable progress.
He has previously worked with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, UN Women (East and Southern Africa and Kenya Country Office), and the National Democratic Institute, where he focused on policy advisory, programme delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
Eric holds a Master’s in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor’s in International Relations from USIU-Africa.
